You are allowed to carry certain baggage free of charge, subject to our conditions and limitations, as outlined on our official website.
9.2. Excess Baggage
If your baggage exceeds the free allowance, you will need to pay an additional charge. These rates are available on our official website.
9.3. Items Unacceptable as Baggage
9.3.1. You must not include the following in your baggage:
- 9.3.1.1. Items that may endanger the aircraft, passengers, or property on board, such as those specified in the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Technical Instructions for Dangerous Goods and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations. Our regulations also apply, and further information is available upon request.
- 9.3.1.2. Items prohibited by applicable laws, regulations, or orders of any state.
- 9.3.1.3. Items deemed unsuitable for carriage due to danger, size, weight, shape, fragility, perishability, or other reasons, considering the type of aircraft being used.
9.3.2. Firearms and Ammunition
- Firearms and ammunition (other than for hunting and sporting purposes) are prohibited as baggage. Firearms for hunting and sporting purposes may be accepted as checked baggage if they are unloaded, with the safety catch on, and packed appropriately. Ammunition is subject to regulations by the National Civil Aviation Authority and the AOSP Programme, as well as ICAO and IATA guidelines.
9.3.3. Weapons
- Weapons such as antique firearms, swords, knives, and similar items may be accepted as checked baggage at our discretion, but are not allowed in the cabin.
9.3.4. Valuable Items
- Do not include money, jewellery, precious metals, computers, personal electronics, negotiable papers, securities, business documents, passports, or other valuables in your checked baggage.
9.3.5. Liability for Damage
- If prohibited items from Articles 9.3.1, 9.3.2, or 9.3.4 are included in your baggage, we are not liable for any damage to these items beyond the limitations of liability in the applicable convention. We are not liable for damage caused by inherent defects in the baggage.
9.3.6. Property Damage
- We are not liable for damage caused by property contained in baggage, unless required by applicable conventions or law. Passengers whose property damages another passenger’s baggage or our property will indemnify us for all losses and expenses incurred.
9.4. Right to Refuse Carriage
- 9.4.1. We will refuse to carry as baggage the items mentioned in Article 9.3. We may also refuse further carriage of such items upon discovery.
- 9.4.2. We may refuse to accept baggage that is unsuitable for carriage due to its size, shape, weight, content, character, safety concerns, or operational reasons.
- 9.4.3. We may refuse to accept baggage unless it is packed in a manner deemed secure and suitable by us. Information about packing is available on our website.
- 9.4.4. We may carry excess baggage on later flights, subject to availability, without compensation for any delay.
9.5. Our Right to Require a Search
- For safety and security reasons, we may request that you permit a search, x-ray, or scan of your baggage or person. We may also search your baggage in your absence. We are not liable for any damage caused by a search unless it is due to our fault or negligence.
9.6. Checked Baggage
- 9.6.1. When you check in your baggage, we assume custody and will issue a baggage identification tag for each piece of checked baggage.
- 9.6.2. It is your responsibility to ensure your baggage is adequately and correctly labelled for identification.
- 9.6.3. We will carry your checked baggage on the same aircraft unless safety, security, or operational reasons necessitate an alternative arrangement.
9.7. Unchecked Baggage
- 9.7.1. We may specify maximum dimensions or weight for carry-on baggage. If no such specifications are provided, carry-on items must fit under the seat in front of you or in an enclosed compartment. If your baggage does not meet these requirements, it must be checked.
- 9.7.2. Items like delicate musical instruments that do not meet the requirements for carry-on baggage will only be accepted in the cabin if you notify us in advance and receive approval. A separate charge may apply.
9.8. Free Baggage Allowance
You may carry some baggage free of charge, subject to the conditions and limitations stated in your ticket. Further details are available on our website and at local branches.
9.9. Excess Baggage
If your baggage exceeds the free baggage allowance, you will be required to pay a charge, as disclosed on our website and at local branches.
9.10. Excess Value Declarations and Charges
You may declare a value for checked baggage above the applicable convention liability limits. If you do so, you will be required to pay additional charges, as specified in our regulations.
9.11. Collection and Delivery of Baggage
- 9.11.1. You must collect your baggage as soon as it becomes available at your destination or stopover. If not collected within a reasonable time, a storage fee may apply.
- 9.11.2. Only the bearer of the baggage check and baggage identification tag is entitled to claim checked baggage.
- 9.11.3. If the person claiming baggage cannot present the baggage check or identification tag, we may deliver the baggage to them if they can prove their right to it and indemnify us for any loss, damage, or expense incurred.
- 9.11.4. Acceptance of baggage without complaint at the time of delivery creates a presumption that the baggage was delivered in good condition.
9.12. Items Removed by Airport Security
We are not liable for any damage to items removed by airport security personnel in accordance with government regulations, even if these items are handed over to us.
